As a collaborative Owner’s Rep firm and construction project consultant, Gordon Pass Group’s goal is to dramatically increase your project success. We anticipate challenges early and develop proactive strategies to protect both budget and construction timelines. We bring expertise in construction, engineering, architecture, interior design, and legal/compliance.

Karen Larson, CFP®
Founder & CEO
Karen is the Founder and CEO of Gordon Pass Group, LLC, and the Founder and Principal of Broad Avenue Studios, Inc., a luxury national interior design firm.
Previously, Karen served as a Director at Deutsche Bank and founded Advanced Sales & Marketing, which she sold to Morningstar, and owned a real estate development company.
Karen’s financial acumen and design expertise provide a value-add to GPG clients in project budgeting and procurement. She also serves as the Chair of the Women’s Foundation of Collier County.
Sean Murphy
Legal & Compliance Consultant
Sean specializes in legal and real estate development services. He co-founded Wakefield Capital LLC, managing a $225M joint venture with NorthStar Realty Finance (NYSE: NRF). Sean also co-founded Wakefield Capital Management, a Registered Investment Advisor focused on healthcare real estate. Previously, he was Executive VP, General Counsel, and Secretary at Medical Office Properties, Inc. and later served as a portfolio and asset manager for CNL Retirement, Inc. after it acquired MOP’s assets. Sean holds a BS, JD, and Master’s in Real Estate from Georgetown. Sean serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Collier County Community Land Trust.
Sara Gomez Primero, NCIDQ RID
Project Manager
Sara is an Architect by training, NCIDQ certified, and has 15 years of experience in commercial and residential interior design projects in the US, Spain, and Latin America. Sara is creative and analytical and she enjoys collaboration with teammates, consultants, vendors, and general contractors. She had participated in the entire project lifecycle of various commercial developments in Southwest Florida and North Carolina.
Jim Rafferty
Engineering & Senior Project Lead
After 39 years as a lead engineer and Senior Manager of Construction at Anheuser Bush InBev, Jim joined GPG to lead the company’s project management services. Having led major construction redevelopment and expansion projects in the US, Europe, China, India, Vietnam, and Australia, the company’s clients benefit from Jim’s extensive technical skills in process design, engineering, and construction management. Jim earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.
Michelle Scurfield, RA LEED AP
Senior Project Manager
Michelle is a senior architect and owner’s-representative with more than 30 years of experience leading complex, high-value building projects from planning through occupancy. Michelle specializes in owner’s-side project management for multifamily, institutional, liturgical, historic, and luxury residential developments, providing disciplined oversight of budget, schedule, constructability, and consultant coordination. Since 2018, her work has focused on owner’s-representative leadership for large residential and mixed-use projects. Michelle has also managed projects involving prominent cathedrals and synagogues. Michelle brings particular strength in contractor procurement, GMP negotiation, cost escalation management, risk mitigation, and quality control skills. Michelle holds a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech.
